Dear Authors,

Before submitting your article, please pay attention to the following points:

According to the journal's policies, only faculty members of universities and research institutes may register and submit articles. For articles extracted from theses or dissertations, the corresponding author must be the thesis supervisor.

The corresponding author's email address must be an academic email.

Carefully fill in author details in the journal system. According to journal regulations, no changes in the order, number, academic rank, or author details, including the corresponding author, will be permitted at any stage. Graduate students should verify their university’s regulations beforehand.

Authors who have an article currently under review in the journal should not submit another article until the status of the existing submission is finalized.

When submitting your article, you must provide the following three files under the specified conditions:

Main Article File: Authors' names must be removed from the main file. The file name should also not include the authors' names.

Authors' Details File: This file should only include authors' names and their institutions. The number and order of names must match exactly with what is entered in the submission system.

Conflict of Interest File: Download and complete the conflict of interest file from this section.

Please fill in the commitment form and upload it as a "Letter to the Editor (Commitment Form)" in the file upload section.

In the journal's submission system, institutional affiliations must be entered exactly as follows:

Department, Faculty, University (Institution), City, Country.

All submitted articles to the Journal of Human Ecology will be screened using similarity-check software before entering the peer-review process.

Article Preparation Guidelines:

Please be informed that, in line with enhancing the indexing of the Human Ecology journal on reputable international scientific websites (Scopus, etc.) According to the minutes of the Scientific Council of the journal dated 2025/07/23, it was decided that from July 23, 2025, all scientific sources of articles should be written in English. Therefore, accepted article authors are requested to cooperate in translating Persian sources into English and correcting the relevant numbers in the text of the article.

Fonts must follow the provided template (click here).

Ensure words in the article are not stuck together. Save the file in doc format and verify word spacing.

Use Persian words and numerals in tables and charts. Separate decimal numbers in Persian with a decimal separator, not a period or comma. English decimal numbers should use a period if necessary.

References at the end of the article do not require numbering.

Figures and charts copied from software such as Excel often disrupt page layout; convert them appropriately to images.

Avoid mentioning any names or addresses within the article text, including acknowledgments.

Article Identification File (Authors' Details File):

Each article must include a file containing the following information in both Persian and English:

• Complete article title in Persian and English

• Authors’ full names in order of contribution, academic rank, and affiliation (Persian and English)

• Complete address of the corresponding author (including postal address, telephone, mobile number, fax, and email) after acceptance

• Specify funding institution (if applicable)

First Page:

Persian Article Title: Clearly placed at the center of the first page; concise, informative, and indicative of the research subject; maximum of 20 words; authors' names must not be included.

Abstract in Persian: 150-350 words, including the objective, scope and study population, sample size, sampling method, research methodology, research instruments, innovation, and results.

Keywords in Persian: (4-5 words) derived from the research title and key variables, suitable for indexing.

English Abstract and Keywords: Complete translation of the Persian abstract and keywords in the same order.

Other Pages:

Introduction: Maximum one page summarizing the research problem, necessity, main question, overall aim, and innovation.

Theoretical Framework: Includes theoretical background and literature review (literature review should specify the author, year, study title, and result; if secondary sources are cited, original sources and page numbers should be included).

Methodology: Clearly describe research methodology, population, sample size determination method, sampling method, instruments used, instrument reliability method and coefficient, and applied models.

Study Area: Brief description of the study area with a credible referenced map.

Findings: Descriptive findings presented without tables in one paragraph; inferential findings (tests results) accompanied by figures, charts, and tables with explanations. Number each figure, table, or chart clearly, and specify their positions within the text.

• Figures, charts, and images must be labeled as "Figure" with titles beneath.

• Provide explanations and interpretations for all maps, tables, and charts in the preceding paragraphs.

• Statistical results presented scientifically; significant differences at 5% and 1% levels should be indicated by one or two stars respectively; non-significant differences marked with "ns."

• Use decimal separators consistently.

Discussion and Conclusion: Restate aim and methodology briefly in a maximum of three lines, followed by a detailed discussion relating to research findings and previous studies. Clearly present new and innovative results supported by credible scientific sources.

Recommendations: Provide concise, practical recommendations without verbs or numbering, directly related to research findings.

Acknowledgments: Maximum of four lines thanking individuals or organizations for guidance, financial support, facilities, or research materials.

Persian equivalents for foreign terms and names should be included in footnotes.

References:

Citations in the text should follow APA format in parentheses. Complete references should be listed alphabetically at the end of the article. Only cited sources should appear in the reference list. Persian sources should be listed in Persian, and all references should be credible and accurate, formatted with a 0.5 cm hanging indent.

Referencing Format:

If the author, publication date, or publisher is unclear, use appropriate abbreviations for "unknown" in Persian.

Books: Author’s surname, initials. (Year). Book Title. Publication City: Publisher.

Book Chapters or Articles in Collections: Author’s surname, initials. (Year). Article Title. Collection Title, page range. Publication City: Publisher.

Translated Books: Author’s surname, initials. (Year of translation). Book Title in Persian. Translator’s name. Publication City: Publisher.

Theses/Dissertations: Author’s surname, initials, Supervisor’s surname, initials. (Year). Thesis Title. Department or Faculty, University Name.

Note: Latin equivalents of authors' names and details must exactly match original sources.

Articles not following these guidelines will not be reviewed.

The corresponding author holds responsibility for the article's scientific content, authorship order, and correspondence. The signed commitment form by all authors must be submitted to the journal office.

Authors' order and number indicated in the initial submission is considered final. Requests for changes must be submitted in writing by all authors with justification before the final review.

Articles are evaluated by the editorial board and reviewers; upon approval, they will be scheduled for publication according to journal policies. The editorial board retains full authority regarding acceptance, rejection, revisions, and addressing author requests.
