From Interactive Art to Escape Room Space Design: Explaining the Role of Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality in Creating an Interactive Experience

Abstract
This study was conducted with the aim of explaining the role of artificial intelligence and virtual reality in enhancing the quality of interactive experience and examining how these technologies influence the design of escape room spaces. The research adopts a descriptive design and, through observation methods and the use of library resources, investigates the factors affecting the design of interactive spaces and their relationship with the capabilities of artificial intelligence and virtual reality. With the remarkable growth of technology, enhancing user experience and increasing the appeal of escape room games have become highly important. In this regard, the use of artificial intelligence and virtual reality, as two emerging technologies, can contribute to the development of escape room games and improve the quality of players’ experiences. Artificial intelligence is also capable of exerting positive effects on the growth and flourishing of art and the creation of new works. Among the applications of artificial intelligence are escape room space design and the creation of interactive artistic experiences. Meanwhile, escape room games, as contemporary examples of experience-oriented spaces, possess a high capacity for integrating spatial design, narrative, technology, and digital innovation. Alongside this, the advancement of artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies has created a turning point in the design of escape room spaces. The findings indicate that, on the one hand, artificial intelligence, as a powerful tool, can assist in designing challenges, puzzles, and riddles in the game; and on the other hand, virtual reality can function as an innovative solution for creating interactive and realistic environments in games, leading to deeper and more extensive interaction with the game.
